The birth of Annie Waller in Birkenhead was registered in Q1 1893, my best guess is she is the daughter of James Colby Waller (1864-1940) and his wife Mary Brereton.
In Q3 1897 the death of a Mary Waller, aged 30, was registered in Birkenhead. This might have been as a result of giving birth to Annie’s sister Amelia.
In the 1901 Census, Annie Waller, aged 8, was staying with her uncle Edward Ansell Waller (1856-1938), a Dock Labourer living in West Ham, together with her brother Edward A. Waller aged 9.
In the 1911 Census James Waller, a Dock Labourer aged 47 and born in Birkenhead is a boarder at 17 Coolfin Road, Victoria Docks East, Canning Town. Present are Sarah Fuller aged 47 (who he married in 1917) the head of the household and a widow, and Annie Waller aged 19 and born in Birkenhead. James is married. Annie Waller has “daughter” against her name. Annie would have been born late 1892 or early 1893. She was a Motor Tyre Maker at an India Rubber Works. But where was James Colby Waller’s wife? Edward A. would have been 19 or 20 and able to fend for himself.
Annie Waller married Arthur A. Quarrall in West Ham in Q2 1915.
Arthur and Annie Quarrell had four children. In 1916 Q2 Jessie E. Quarrell, in 1917 Q3 Dorothy A. Quarrell, in 1920 Q2 Annie I. Quarrell and in 1921 Q3 Arthur B. Quarrell.
In Q3 1925 the death of an Arthur A Quarrell in Mile End Old Town was registered.
Annie Quarrall married Neil N. W. Matheson in Stepney in Q4 1927.
Im 1946 Q4 her daughter Annie I. Quarrell married Reginald J. Alexander, registered in Essex South Western.
Annie Matheson’s death aged 61 was registered in Essex South-Western in Q4 1954.
