Edward Ansell Eason (1917-1998) and William James Eason (1917-1917)

Twins Edward Ansell and William James Eason were born to George and Georgina Eason on 22 September 1917 (according to Edward’s death register and the 1939 register) and baptised on 7 October at Birkenhead St. Paul.

William James Eason died in October 1917 and was buried aged 27 days on 23 October at Birkenhead Cemetery, Section 9, grave 527a, along with his grandfather John James. The family abode was 16, Stoke Street.

In the 1939 register taken on 29 September, Edward Ansell was a Coppersmith’s Labourer at a Shipyard. His date of birth was 22 September 1917 and he was 22.

According to the marriage register entry, Edward Ansell Eason married Florence Hughes on 6 August 1947 at Birkenhead St. Matthew. Florence’s father’s name was Archibald Bennett.

Derrick George Eason’s birth in Birkenhead was registered in Q1 1948, and his mother’s maiden name was recorded as Bennett. He was christened at Birkenhead St. Peter on 4 April. On the baptism record the mother’s name is only recorded as Florence Eason. So whether her surname was Hughes or Bennett, it was definitely a Florence who Edward married. Maybe Archibald had re-married.

Florence Eason’s death was registered in Q2 1987 in Birkenhead, and her date of birth was stated to be 15 March 1918.

Edward Ansell Eason’s death was registered in Q1 1998 in Liverpool. His date of birth was stated to be 22 September 1917.
