Georgina Eason (née Waller) (1892-1974)

Georgina Waller was born on 28 or 29 April 1892, the twin of Fidelia (1892-1971). They were both baptised on 16 May 1892 at Birkenhead St. Peter and the baptism records show their date of birth was 28 April. However, on the 1939 register they both say 29 April. Father’s occupation Labourer, abode 52 Cathcart Street.

In 1911 she was 18 and a Cardboard Printer at a Soap Maker. i.e. Lever’s.

On 16 June 1917 Georgina married George Eason, aged 24, son of William Eason, at Birkenhead St. Peter.

Twins William James and Edward Ansell Eason were born on 22 September 1917 (according to Edward’s death register entry) and baptised on 7 October at Birkenhead St. Paul.

William James Eason died in October 1917 and was buried aged 27 days on 23 October at Birkenhead Cemetery, Section 9, grave 527a, along with his grandfather John James. The family abode was 16, Stoke Street.

Amelia May Eason was born in Q1 1919 and baptised on 9 February 1919 at Birkenhead St. Paul.

Margaret Ann Eason was born in Q3 1921 and baptised on 10 August 1921 at Birkenhead St. Paul.

Georgina Lily Eason was born in 1924 and baptised on 23 July that year. She died aged 3 in June 1927, and was buried at Birkenhead (Flaybrick) Cemetery on 18 June 1927. She was buried with her paternal grandparents William and Amelia Eason in Section 13, Grave 211. The family abode was 11 Stoke Street.

In the 1939 register, George and Georgina were still living at 11 Stoke Street, Birkenhead. Georgina’s date of birth was given as 29 April 1892 (it was actually the 28th), George’s was 20 August 1892 and he was a Heavy Labourer, Edward Ansell’s was 22 September 1917 and he was a Coppersmith’s Labourer at a Shipyard. Amelia May’s was 20 January 1919 and she was a Shop Assistant (Fruit & Greengrocer), and Margaret Ann’s was 5 July 1921 and she was a Confectioners Assistant (Bakery).

Amelia May Eason married Henry Pierce in Q1 1947.

According to the marriage register entry, Edward Ansell Eason married Florence Hughes on 6 August 1947 at Birkenhead St. Matthew. Florence’s father’s name was Archibald Bennett.

Derrick George Eason’s birth in Birkenhead was registered in Q1 1948, and his mother’s maiden name was recorded as Bennett. He was christened at Birkenhead St. Peter on 4 April. On the baptism record the mother’s name is only recorded as Florence Eason. So whether her surname was Hughes or Bennett, it was definitely a Florence who Edward married. Maybe she had married a Hughes before this marriage.

John H. Pierce’s birth was registered in Q1 1948, born to Henry and Amelia Pierce.

Margaret Ann Eason married William J. Griffiths in Q4 1948.

Amelia May Pierce died Q2 2004 aged 85.

George Eason died Q2 1962 in Birkenhead, aged 69.

Georgina Eason died Q2 1974 in Birkenhead. Again, like her twin sister Fidelia, her birth date is recorded as 2 May 1892.

Henry Pierce’s death was registered in Q4 1975 in Birkenhead, his date of birth stated to be 8 January 1913.

Florence Eason’s death was registered in Q2 1987 in Birkenhead, and her date of birth was stated to be 15 March 1918.

Edward Ansell Eason’s death was registered in Q1 1998 in Liverpool. His date of birth was 22 September 1917.
